Gino Iori: I am a community cancer panel member

“I am a community cancer panel member. I will continue to volunteer as a consumer in cancer research to continue the fight against cancer.”

Gino Iori lost his brother to pancreatic cancer in 2011. Determined to ensure his death was not in vain, Gino has become an active member of a number of community cancer committees including CONCERT’S Community Cancer Panel.

“I got involved as a consumer in cancer research because I want to do what I can to help cancer researchers find cures for cancers,” says Gino.

“I now have a better understanding and appreciation of cancer research and the funding challenges that medical research teams face in Australia.”

Gino has provided invaluable consumer input into cancer projects including work with two pancreatic cancer research teams.

Gino, together with cancer survivors, will be climbing Sydney’s Harbour Bridge in recognition of World Cancer Day on 4 February 2020.
