Who you are and what do you do?
I am Tanzila Khan, a PhD student. My research interest focuses on the interaction of different signalling pathways in prostate cancer. I collect biospecimens in CONCERT Biobank located at the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research. We deliver cancer specimens to different groups in order to do research, ultimately improving the quality of life.
What is your motivation (why do you do what you do)?
Being a researcher, I want to study the complexity of this deadly disease- called cancer by using liquid biopsies. My work has the potential to change management of prostate cancer patients and benefit their survival and quality of life.
What will you do this World Cancer Day?
I will continue my efforts to improve the diagnosis and treatment options for cancer patients through understanding cancer biology.
